When you actually need a Shopify developer
Not always — and we'd rather say so. If you sell a handful of products, your photography is ready, and you don't need cash on delivery or Arabic, a good theme and a focused weekend will get you live. Spend the money on stock instead.
Bring in a developer when the store has to do real work:
- Cash on delivery. COD is still a genuine expectation across many UAE categories. It isn't a checkbox — it reaches into checkout, fulfilment, reconciliation and returns.
- Arabic, properly. Right-to-left changes layout, typography and testing across every template. Retrofitted, you pay for the build twice.
- Delivery across the emirates. Who ships it, how fast, what it costs. Customers abandon at the delivery line more often than the price line.
- Being findable. A theme install doesn't rank. Structure, schema and the Google foundations decide whether anyone arrives.
Hand-built, no page builders
We don't ship drag-and-drop pages bloated with a builder's runtime. Shopify handles payments, tax, security and delivery integrations — that's the part worth buying. The storefront on top of it we build by hand, so it loads fast and you're not paying a subscription to an app that renders your homepage.
Custom builds off Shopify make sense only when you have a real requirement the platform genuinely can't express. That's rarer than the agencies selling custom will tell you — because custom is where the margin is, and where the dependency on the agency lives. If you don't need it, we'll say so and quote you less.
Why Dubai store projects run late
Almost no Shopify project is late because of code. It's late because the photos weren't taken and nobody decided the returns policy.
We scope those as real work with real owners and real dates, instead of pretending they'll appear. Build to handover runs about two to three weeks when your catalogue is ready. If it isn't, we tell you at the quote stage rather than at week ten.
